Fault Lines

Thursday 9 October 7.30pm
Full £8 | Concessions £5 | Age 16+

As our planet’s voice gets louder, are we ready to listen?

Fault Lines pulls at the tension in our relationship with nature. Our constant pursuit of progress increasing the speed of life has left us out of sync with the natural world. A scorched earth, from the rubble and the ruin the survivors emerge. A new world, a second chance. Within changing landscapes created from striking digital illustrations and evocative music, our survivors navigate the world, racing towards an unknown future.

Fault Lines explores the environmental damage we’ve inflicted but asks what happens when we stand together with hope? What will that take?

Content to consider:
~ Themes of sudden loss & trauma
~ Depictions of anxiety, panic, & mental strain.
~ Sound sensitivity – sudden loud noises, deep rumbles, jarring soundscapes
~ Strobe or flashing lights

Choreographed by Abi Mortimer and Carrie Whitaker with new writing from Nick Walker (award winning writer, BBC) gives voice to both the existential panic, alongside the everyday problem solving needed to live on a hotter, more crowded, and less predictable planet. With an original sound score by Dougie Evans, the projection of digital imagery by Zach Walker (MakeAmplify) and digital moving illustrations by Courtney McCarthy, the natural world enters the space to create a rich sensory world for the performers.

“Fault Lines refuses to lose hope, and offers an alternative view of the future in this sincere and well-crafted piece”

The Guardian

“One of the most evocative pieces of dance theatre I have seen for quite a while.”

Look After Your Knees

Thursday 16 October 7.30pm
Full £8 | Concessions £5 | Age 16+

One women’s mission to let go of a load of sh*t

A new solo performance by Natalie Bellingham that celebrates the messy business of being human, sprinkled with joy and ridiculousness.

In a blend of comedy, storytelling and movement, Natalie takes a personal journey through the pain and beauty of growing older, connecting and unravelling, holding on and letting go.

Content to consider:
~ Strong language
~ Grief and bereavement
~ Emotional intensity

It’s about a person trying to unwrap a new version of themselves in a world they don’t recognise and a life they seem uncomfortably in charge of.

It’s about what comes next.

“Her lovely performance energy immediately imbues the room – the next hour is a joy”.

Plus, there’s a really good joke about a parrot.
